AGP Pool Base Help
by Erik Pogue
We bought a 24ft above ground pool and I was planning on using sand. However, when I opened the instructions it specifically says that if I use sand for the cove it will void my warranty. I am considering all the options including pool-krete, styrofoam, and Gladdon Perfect Bottom.
I live in Arkansas and have thick clay soil and there is some nut grass around so I am concerned about that. Any advice on what the best way to go would be appreciated. I don't want to overspend but want the pool to last.
Hi Erik. The preformed pool cove is not a bad idea but I still prefer sand. For most of my installations I use a sand base and a sand cove. The nut grass could cause problems so be sure to treat it properly so it will not grow back up through your liner.
