bottom rail replacements

by Karen
(VERMONT)

I bought a 24 ft round above ground pool 16 years ago when I was still living at home. We are attempting to relocate it but the bottom rail was the only part that is rusted. The pool walls and top rails/pump, etc are in great shape. When I bought the pool it had a 25 year warranty but the place I bought it from has been out of business for years and the company Cornelius speaks French mostly, communications with them have been unsuccessful. Someone must sell these parts. The rest of the is in to good of shape to junk it. Help?

Hi Karen, Bottom rails for older pools are very difficult to come by. New models come out every year and the rails change with every model. All the brands also have different rails. It could be just about impossible to match them up exactly. There are two things I would try. You could go to every pool store in your area and see if they have old pool parts lying around and maybe match them up with something close enough to work. You could also shop around for a decent used pool that you could buy cheap. You could then mix the good stuff from both pools and it would probably be cheaper than buying new parts for the one you have.
