Bottom Rail

by Zayra
(Midland, TX)

Where can I buy the bottom rails that hold the wall up on an above ground swimming pool?

Hi Zayra. It is helpful to know exactly what kind of pool you have and try to order from that manufacturer.

Here is more information that might help you locate parts for an above ground pool.

Bottom Rail Replacements

by Karen
(VERMONT)

I bought a 24 ft round above ground pool 16 years ago when I was still living at home. We are attempting to relocate it but the bottom rail was the only part that is rusted.

The pool walls and top rails/pump, etc are in great shape. When I bought the pool it had a 25 year warranty but the place I bought it from has been out of business for years and the company Cornelius speaks French mostly, communications with them have been unsuccessful. Someone must sell these parts. The rest of the is in to good of shape to junk it. Help?

Hi Karen. Bottom rails for older pools are very difficult to come by. New models come out every year and the rails change with every model. All the brands also have different rails. It could be just about impossible to match them up exactly. There are two things I would try. You could go to every pool store in your area and see if they have old pool parts lying around and maybe match them up with something close enough to work. You could also shop around for a decent used pool that you could buy cheap. You could then mix the good stuff from both pools and it would probably be cheaper than buying new parts for the one you have.

Bottom Rail System for AGP

by Sheila
(Gas City, IN, USA)

I just got a 27' round pool and most of the bottom rail system is no longer usable, is there any way to get a replacement or some way we can work around the bottom rail system?

Hi Sheila. You really do need the bottom rail system for an above ground pool. There is no way to get around that.

There is a place I know of where you can order bottom rails and footplates. If you own an Asahi or Mighty Sun pool they should match up just fine. If you own another brand of pool you would have to do some adapting on the footplates to make them work with the uprights, but it could be done.

Try asahiparts.com.

You would be better off if you could identify the pool brand and then find a local store that sells it. They should be able to order parts for you. I have written more about finding parts for above ground pools here.
