Making Pool Top Caps

My pool has metal uprights and top rail. The caps seem decorative. I was thinking about building my own replacement caps from composite decking boards with deep grooves on underside.

I plan to use table saw to cut off all but one of the ridges from the back of board - to form a lip to put toward outside of pool. Screw onto top plates with long metal screws.

Hi. I can see no reason this would not work just fine. This could easily be a good alternative for those people owning pools with hard to find replacement parts.

I know of quite a few different brand pools that use resin or plastic parts for their decorative top caps. Once the parts are no longer available the pool owners are stuck with ugly pools.

I would love to see how these turn out, it could be the answer for a lot of above ground pool owners.
