TUFF POOL

TUFF POOL

I am interested in a above ground pool for my kids. I have seen a pool called the "TUFF POOL" and wondered if you know anything about them or know anyone that has one and what their experience with them is and quality of them.
Thank you for your time and help.

Linda

Hi Linda I have installed many of them and know people who own them. I have seen just a few problems with them. They tend to dry rot and discolor around the top, above the water line, much quicker than a vinyl pool. It is also harder to get the bottom smooth and wrinkle free, making it more difficult for a cleaner to do its job.

Also, from what I have seen, steel wall pools are a better value for the money. If the price were the same, I would take a steel wall pool over a Tuff pool any day. To pay extra for a Tuff pool is something I will never understand, there are no advantages that I can see.

cool pools

I was lucky to get one off Craigslist for a steal of a deal (owner had to move). I am impressed by the quality of the pool. It has a great filtration system and is good for swimming and kids (safety ladder). Plus I have a 8x18 rectangular, so it doesn't take up much space. I would recommend to look for a deal and if you cannot afford a new pool then its a good buy. Very easy to set up and maintain.

Best Pool by Tuff
by: Ty

I have had a Tuff pool for 4 years and never had a bit of problem. No dry rot and a bottom you can get perfectly smooth. Its all in the set up. Mine stays up year round, so when we first put water in it we put in a small amount and kick edges, then fill. We put an inch of sand down as base to make it soft under the bottom. We spend hours upon hours in our pool. No steel wall pool that liner needs replacing every two years can compete.

Tuff Pool
by: Nicole

I'm having a hard time finding reviews on the Tuff pool other than the couple here. Has anyone purchased generic fencing to put on it, or does it require the fencing that Tuff pools sells as it's about triple in price. Our city requires a fence, so trying to save costs. Thanks.

I have been selling and installing tuff pools for 12 years

I always find it funny when i read reviews that are written by other pool companies. Yes Tuff Pools are a little more money up front. But are worth every penny.

Quality
by: Mike G

I was fortunate that my sisters kids lost interest in their pool as they got older. Fortunate for us as she gave us the pool as she knew we were looking for one. After looking at numerous pools, I am impressed with the quality of the pool and filtration system. The liner is tough as nails and the filtration is something you normally see an inground pool. The area I placed the pool has a slope and I have had no problems.

Tuff Pools makes a great product and I would recommend them over other brands especially Intex.

Ripped off by Tuff Pools and Spas
by: Sharon

We went to the Howard County pool and spa expo over the weekend looking for an above ground automatic pool cleaner. Tuff pools had one and the salesmen stated he would give us a good deal on it. Come to find out they overcharged us by $70 for it. Great job Tuff pools on your customer loyalty. Lesson learned on this one google something before giving your money to a dishonest company.

Newbie to Tuff Pool
by: Jill

My husband & I also went to Howard Co Fairgrounds for the Tuff Pool show, salesrep said he would sell us the demo off floor for $6008.80 (includes tax), we said no way we can justify that amount on our 1st pool. We went home and got on craigslist and there was the exact pool for sale by private owner $1500 and only used for 3 months. He sold his as above ground pools not allowed in his community.
Needless to say I own the pool and am very happy !

Tuff Pools warranty is useless
by: Shelley

I purchased my Tuff pool 6 years ago. Thought it was great until we woke up to the liner ripping across the top. Had to do a quick draining of the pool. No worries though because there is a "Lifetime warranty" on the liner. . . not so fast . . . I have to mail the entire thing to another country.

Then they may decide that it's really not covered. So not only do I not have a warranty, but I am out the $100 on the shipping. they are stupid!!! Seriously people don't buy the pool. 6 years of swimming was not worth the $4,000 I paid. Not for a second!

They are not an honest company!

View Pool
by: Jill

Another comment by me on my Tuff Pool. I still recommend this pool, but at all means do NOT get the view pool. That is the 12x20 with windows on it.
I love the pool but the windows are starting to leak, and NO my husband did not tighten the screws to tight when installing. He was very careful as it is only plastic. We are stopping the leaks by using this epoxy by Leak Master. The windows are not covered under warranty and are $300 per set of 4.

tuff pool tearing
by: Diana

I have had my Tuff pool for 6 years now. I really love it, but now it's tearing on the top of the rail area. Is there any way of fixing this temporary or permanent? Someone please help for now anyway.
