The awning hanger is the part that is attached to the home. The awning panels fit into the hanger. The hanger needs to be matched in size to the awning panels.

Hangers also come in a few different styles. The J hanger is used with an a-rail. This type of hanger pivots in the a-rail and is needed when attaching to the fascia board on many houses. If the fascia board is set at an angle the hanger needs to pivot to match the slope of the awning.

The G-rail and the KC hanger can both be attached to a flat surface. The photo at right shows a C-hanger. It is very similar to a G-rail.
